  Maryland Assessment Group Fall Conference

"Getting Back on Track"

The Maryland Assessment Group (MAG) is excited to announce our continued effort to deliver an in-person conference to Maryland educators. This is to announce MAG's return and 35th anniversary!
 

In partnering with MSDE, educational leaders, local school districts, and vendors, MAG promises to provide professional development sessions on a wide variety of educational topics facing public schools as we recover from a world-wide pandemic. Now, more than ever, is the time to be focused on student achievement and measures of academic success!
 

New this year, MAG and MSDE will expand professional learning for participants by providing a year-long Professional Learning Community (PLC) Pathway for educators that focuses on the formative assessment process. This PLC Pathway, The Success Criteria Playbook, kicks off on Thursday with a full day of in-person learning  during the MAG conference and will continue throughout the 2021-2022 school year with monthly virtual sessions.  Registration for this Pathway includes the text book, The Success Criteria Playbook, A Hands-On Guide to Making Learning Visible and Measurable.  In addition to the one MSDE professional development credit all conference attendees receive; additional credit can be earned for attending this MSDE backed training.

In keeping with the rich history of past conferences, The Maryland Assessment Board of Directors is seeking Requests for Presentations for this conference that will focus on topics such as:

• The new Accuplacer
• SAT and AP assessments - then and now
• The transition to new MCAP assessments
• DLM and instructionally embedded assessments
• Updates on graduation and bridge requirements
• College and career readiness tracking and assessment options
• Data integrity and confidentiality
• Making school improvement plans with lag and pandemic data

Conference Registration Fees

Registration payment by credit card only as of 11/15/21

MAG is committed to keeping registration costs low while providing the same quality experience our attendees have come to expect over the last 35 years.  

The Conference runs from 3:30 PM, Wednesday, November 17th through 12:30 PM, Friday, November 19th.  The following are included in the conference registration fees:

- Session offerings leading to 1 CPD credit
- Keynote sessions
- Over 15 Maryland State Department of Education presentations
- Five robust meals including our signature seafood dinner
- Vendor displays and exhibitions including two social networking events

*You have the option to pay by credit card online or receive an invoice to mail with a check or purchase order.

MAG hopes everyone who registers for the conference will be able to attend; however, MAG also recognizes the need to be flexible during the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. 

For the 2021 conference, MAG will issue a full refund of conference fees if you must cancel your registration for any reason up until 7 days prior to the conference.

This oceanfront hotel is the conference headquarters for MAG 2021. The newly renovated guest rooms have either two double beds or one king bed, most with pull-out sofa bed.  Limited one, two and three bedroom condos are available in a separate building.  Maid service is not included with the condos.  Indoor pool and exercise facility on premises.

All reservations must be made by October 28, 2021 for the group rates.  All rates are per room, per night.

A deposit equal to one night's room and tax will be required to hold your reservation.  You will receive confirmation directly from the Clarion.

The deposit is refundable if reservation is cancelled at least 72 hours prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.  There will be no refunds for early check-out.
