"Literacy Lights the Way" to the future, to your greatest potential, to a lifetime of opportunities and to the BEACH!

We are thrilled to host the 2013 Annual VSRA Conference in Virginia Beach.  The Virginia Beach Convention Center and Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront welcomes VSRA April 18-20, 2013.  We will have Pre-Conference Literacy Institutes, Featured Speakers, Concurrent Sessions, and General Sessions.   Our Exhibit Hall will feature an opportunity to see Virginia vendors and the products and services that can enhance your work.  We will offer opportunities for socializing, networking and just having fun!

Conference Fees and Payment Procedures

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  ONSITE REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17TH AT 6:00 PM IN THE EXHIBIT HALL A FOYER OF THE VIRGINIA BEACH CONVENTION CENTER.  ONSITE REGISTRATION IS $275.00 FOR THE FULL CONFERENCE.

Payment Options:

You may pay by credit card, check or purchase order. After you submit your registration, you will be offered the option to click on the PayPal link to pay immediately or click on the Invoice link to bring up an invoice to send in with your check or purchase order. Your invoice will include all pertinent information including the mailing address.

Conference Rates:

All rates include a boxed lunch on Friday, April 19th in the Exhibit Hall.

Important Registration Notes:

To qualify for the Member Rate, you must be able to provide proof that you are a current year member of VSRA directly or through a Local Council.*  The current VSRA Membership year runs from September 1, 2012 – August 31, 2013. 

* If you are not sure, please verify with VSRA or your Local Council prior to registering. We must forward Member registrations to the membership committee for verification and you will be required to pay an additional $50.00 membership fee onsite if you do not qualify.   

To quaify for the Student Rate you must be able to produce a current student I.D. from an accredited organization.

You will be asked to indicate the Local Reading Council that you are a member of or will be joining if registering as a non-member.  Please go to http://vsra.org/membership/local-councils/ for a map of the councils.

Cancellation fee - on or before April 01, 2013- $75.00. No refunds after April 01, 2013.

Pre-Conference Literacy Institutes and Optional Meal Functions

Pre-Conference Literacy Institutes

Pre-conference Literacy Institutes are optional two hour sessions offered the morning of Thursday, April 18th, prior to the actual conference.  We offer Early Morning sessions beginning at 8:00AM, and Mid-Morning sessions beginning at 10:00AM.  You may choose up to one Institute in each time session at an additional cost of $40.00 per Institute.

Optional Meal Functions

All rates include a boxed lunch on Friday, April 19th in the Exhibit Hall.

In addition, we have planned several optional meal functions as listed below. Some are complimentary and some have additional cost. In order to receive a ticket, you must register for all events that you wish to attend, even if they have a 0.00 cost.

Note: If you wish to bring a guest to the Annual Banquet with Jane O'Conner, you may purchase a guest ticket by emailing vsra@customconference.com and we will send you a request form.

Hotel Accommodations

VSRA has negotiated a block of rooms at the following hotels in Virginia Beach.  Reservations must be made through the Virginia Beach Convention Center Housing website located below.

All room blocks will expire after March 18, 2013.  After this date the hotels will accommodate on a space and rate available basis.

Continuous complimentary shuttle service will run between the Convention Center and the official VSRA hotels below beginning at 6:30AM each day.
