VAASL 2016 - "Libraries:  Charting the Course"

Onsite Registration Rates

Member Full Conference - $170.00

Member Thursday or Friday only - $120.00

Member Saturday Only - $80.00

Non-member Full Conference - $230.00

Non-member Thursday or Friday Only - $130.00

Retiree Full Conference - $120.00

Bring a Classroom Teacher (in conjunction with a librarian at the appropriate rate) - $75.00


Optional event tickets will not be available onsite.

Conference Fees and Payment Procedures

Registrants may pay either with a credit card online or receive an invoice to pay by check or purchase order by mail.

Please make your check or purchase order payable to VAASL and mail to:  VAASL Conference, c/o Conference Solutions, P.O. Box 7276, Fairfax Station,VA 22039-7276.

Purchase orders may also be faxed to Conference Solutions at 1-703-493-9377 or scanned and emailed to vaasl@customconference.com.  Please include a copy of the invoice with the purchase order.

In order to take advantage of our "bring a classroom teacher" promotion, please go to the GROUP REGISTRATION form and register the first person at the appropriate member or nonmember rate and the teacher at the "register a classroom teacher" rate of just $75.00.

Membership Reminder: To register for the conference using member rates, your non-lifetime membership must be renewed/processed prior to arrival at the conference.  The VAASL membership year is October 1 - September 30.  If you renew your membership on or after July 1, 2016, your membership will continue through September 30, 2017.

To renew your membership or join VAASL, visit the VAASL Home Page and click on "Membership" at the top.  Hint: The difference between the “member” registration rate and the “nonmember” rate is more than the cost of a VAASL membership.  

Concurrent Session Presenters:  If your proposal for a concurrent session is accepted, you will register for the conference at a discounted price using the URL included in your acceptance email.

Cancellation: To cancel your registration, send a written request postmarked on or before September 23, 2016, to VAASL 2016 Conference c/o Conference Solutions, LLC, P.O. Box 7276 Fairfax Station, VA 22039-7276, fax 1-703-493-9377 or email vaasl@customconference.com.  A cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged.  No refunds will be given for cancellations after September 23, 2016.  Refunds will be processed after the conference.

Optional Events

On the registration form, check all of the optional events you plan to attend even if they are complimentary.  All optional events will require a ticket (only those who indicate they will attend the President's Reception will receive a drink ticket). 

Tickets will be distributed onsite in your registration packet.

VAASL Conference rate - $130.00 per night King or 2 Double Beds.

Also included in the room rate is complimentary guest room WiFi and discounted self-parking for $14/car/night plus tax.

The cut-off date for reservations in the block is September 28, 2016 or UNTIL ROOM BLOCK IS FILLED.

THE NORFOLK WATERSIDE MARRIOTT IS NOW SOLD OUT OF THE VAASL BLOCK ON WEDNESDAY, 10/19 AND FRIDAY, 10/21.  THERE ARE STILL ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR THRUSDAY 10/20 ONLY.

An alternate block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard Norfolk Downtown at 520 Plume Street within walking distance to the conference hotel (.3 miles, 5 minutes per Google maps).  The rate is $99.00 per night for 1 King or 2 Queen beds.
